ORB has proudly launched a Charity Referral Month. We will donate 25% of the first year’s annual membership fee to FareShare for each new member joining ORB during October if the referral code CHARITY is quoted in the application process.

FareShare is a national charity fighting hunger and food waste by redistributing surplus food to charities that turn the food into meals for vulnerable people. To date, they have redistributed 24,074 tonnes of food providing the equivalent of 57.3 million meals.

The referral campaign is designed to encourage existing #ORBmembers to refer other ethical businesses to join the movement for a better way of doing business. The more members we have, the stronger our voice and the greater the difference we can make.

Members can refer directly or indirectly and although they do not receive any direct benefit, they do benefit from knowing that FareShare will receive much-needed funds as a result of their referral AND that they helping to drive the responsible business movement forward.

Our ambitious target and long-term commitment

We have an ambitious target of 100 new members during the month which would generate in excess of £1,000 for Fare Share.

But although membership starts at only £10 per quarter (£35 per annum) for sole proprietors with no employees, it gradually rises to £95 per quarter (£350 per annum) for larger businesses with up to 250 employees. A higher percentage of medium-sized businesses joining would mean the donation to Fare Share would be considerably more.

If we reach our base target of 100 new members in October, our commitment is to permanently maintain a charitable donation. That means we will donate 25% of ALL first-year membership fees to a nominated charity on an ongoing basis.

Whilst this is predominantly a member referral scheme we do, of course, work hard to support our members and therefore ORB will be augmenting our members’ efforts by also actively promoting our Charity Referral Month.

Working with Work for Good

ORB is a member of Work for Good who, likewise, are also #ORBMembers.

As ORB is raising money for Fare Share and actively promoting this in our marketing, it is a legal requirement that we have a Commercial Participation Agreement (CPA) in place. This can be a costly and time-consuming process, but Work for Good provides a fundraising platform that makes it easy for their members to set up a CPA without any charge to the business.

We set up our CPA with FareShare via the Work for Good platform in literally just a few minutes.
