The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has acknowledged how difficult it is for SMEs to efficiently recycle their waste. A survey in November 2010 indicated that 95% of small businesses would recycle more if they had better access to better facilities.
The FSB is now lobbying government for several short and long-term policy initiatives to help small businesses deal with their waste more efficiently. These include but are not limited to:
-
Access to Household Waste and Recycling Centres
-
Cutting red tape for small amounts of waste
-
Collection centres for food waste
-
Awareness raising
