The waste review - the small business case

The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) has acknowledged how difficult it is for SMEs to efficiently recycle their waste. A survey in November 2010 indicated that 95% of small businesses would recycle more if they had better access to better facilities.  

The FSB is now lobbying government for several short and long-term policy initiatives to help small businesses deal with their waste more efficiently. These include but are not limited to:

  • Access to Household Waste and Recycling Centres
  • Cutting red tape for small amounts of waste
  • Collection centres for food waste
  • Awareness raising
