No 10 welcomes feedback from SMEs trying to do business with Government

David Cameron has today issued a commitment to providing a new way of doing business with Government.

The Prime Minister has spoken about the shocking examples of wasteful, inefficient and inflexible systems inherited by this government. Amongst the concerns was the lack of competition with "small and medium sized businesses, charities and social enterprises being actively discouraged by the system from competing for government contracts."

The Prime Minister has stated an ambition for 25% of government business to go to SMEs. The complexity and lengthiness of processes are to be reviewed and a new package of measures to ensure transparency and easier access to contracts is being introduced.

Feedback from SMEs is still being requested, so if you have had any experience of doing business with government please log on to the                         Number 10 portal and tell your story!

Additionally, if you want to start bidding for government contracts you can log on to                            Contracts Finder which will display every central government tender opportunity together with an e-mail facility to let you know when new ones come up in your area.
